WHO WAS JOHN F. KENNEDY?
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) was the 35th President of the United States of America. He was popularly known as JFK, he was born in Brookline, MA on May 29, 1917, and he was shot on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, TX. He was blessed with four kids.
WHEN WAS JFK ASSASSINATED?
President JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963, by Lee Harvey Oswald from a book depository on Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Here is the timeline below:
7:23am: Oswald went to work in a book depository building with a full package of weapons waiting for JFK to land by 11;30am.
11:44am: President JFK and first lady got in an open-top limo to tour around Dallas with Texas Governor John Connally, and Vice President Lyndon Johnson was in a separate car.
12:27pm: President JFK entered Dealey Plaza toward the downtown Dallas Trade Mart, and there were over 150,000 people lined the 10-mile motorcade route to see JFK.
12:30pm: President JFK's head was struck with a bullet in the back while he waved and 2nd bullet shot too, his first lady was also hit. (tho there was confusion of a number of bullets, some witnesses said it was 3 or more.
12:32pm: A Dallas police officer stopped Oswald at the second floor of the book depository building but later let him go.
1:00pm: Doctor declared President JFK dead then Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in aboard Air Force One.
1:50pm: Oswald later arrested after a struggle at the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff, within 30mins, he was interrogated at the Dallas Police Headquarters. Dallas police officers then found a rifle hidden on the sixth floor of the depository with empty rifle shells nearby.
Two days after: Two days after Oswald was arrested by Dallas police officers, he was shot at Dallas police headquarters by nightclub owner Jack Ruby on live television during a prison transfer.
Oswald was declared dead after attempted surgery at Parkland Hospital.
