HOW TO PREVENT PROCRASTINATION IN WRITING

When I was a kid, I got to know that to delay is very dangerous and in some words, procrastination is a sin, but sadly, it happens to almost everyone in a lifetime, its something we can't avoid but its something we can deal with and also avoid.

Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something. Procrastination happens when we don't want to re-read after writing the first draft or being forced to re-evaluate the writing, again and again. Sometimes we might not have time to read all over the paper again because of that we avoid the uncomfortable movement, and that's when it leads to procrastination.

HOW TO DEAL WITH PROCRASTINATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING

The most important part of our life is DISCIPLINE. We must discipline ourselves when it comes to the TIME MANAGEMENT because its a most significant challenge for many aspiring writers, there is time for everything, we should have specific time for writing daily, with that, we would be able to accomplish the mission and another method of using time management is to use a timer and set yourself a word count to reach before the time runs out.

Motivation is also the most critical part, we all need to be motivated by someone or something on a daily basis, motivation is just like taking a bath, and we take a shower daily to stay fresh, we need motivation daily to stay focused and keep pushing. Be with somebody who will motivate you to keep writing, and the result will surprise you.

Distractions are real and disruptive especially when a lot of responsibility is on the ground, and with the social media, we have presently, it will rape our time of writing or doing something important. When we want to write, we should create an environment that will get rid of as many distractions as possible and at the same time disciplining ourselves to stay focused and complete the writing with clear direction.

When we want to write something, we have to know where the story is going, and we cant start a car and drive out of the house without having any idea of the destination, it will lead to nowhere. When we want to start writing, we should know where the story is going with clear direction; it will help us to complete the mission.

Finally, you can choose to be accountable to your mentors if you are still procrastinating on trying all the methods that do not work out for you. Talk to someone to mentor you and check in with you from time to time about your writing, and you can also join a writing forum or community that will give you all the support you need.
